Is your school in the “Big Dance”? Are your favorite teams going to play in the championship game?
For the players, it all starts on the playground dreaming of performing for their favorite schools. For the fans, it’s cheering and sweating bullets on every shot.
It’s time to make your picks for your tournament brackets to get rich, yell until you’re hoarse and walk around with your fave hoodies, t-shirts and sports gear.
CBR is headquartered in Murray, KY. Home of the Murray State Racers who won the Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament. They are 30-1 and they’re looking like they might get to the “Sweet 16″ this year. They were ranked in the top 10 for most of the year.
Also in the great state of Kentucky are three more teams in the NCAA tournament. Western KY University barely got in and are playing a “qualifier” game against Mississippi Valley State to see who gets to play the number one seed overall. That happens to be the winning-est and best basketball program of all time, the University of Kentucky. The fourth KY team in the tourney is Louisville which is coached by one of the best of all time, Rick Pitino. Pitino won a national championship at U of KY before leaving for the Celtics.
As usual, the state of NC is well represented at the Big Dance as well. They have NC State, U of NC and Duke. As a side note NC State coach, Mark Gottfried got his start as a head coach at Murray State.
Michigan has more than it’s share of teams this year with the Sparties, Detroit and U of MI. They look like over achievers to us but my neighbor would beg to differ.
The rest of the field is pretty scattered about this great country of our’s. However CA has great representation including St. Mary’s who got a whoopin by the Murray State Racers in a “Bracket Buster” game.
All the “poking” is tongue in cheek and enough about the Racers. We wish all the schools good luck. The first person to pick the national champion and post on the comments will win an iTunes gift card.
Who’s it going to be?
