We have a winner for the CBR Tution Sweepstakes.
Juliana Knopp, a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign was awarded a $10 thousand tuition scholarship from a Collegebookrenter.com (CBR) sweepstakes. Knopp , a freshman, is studying to be a chemical engineer. “My hopes are to go into the petroleum industry in the future. When not attending UI, Knopp lives in Olathe, KS and graduated from Olathe North High School.
“Scholarship funding is critical and helps to make college more affordable for students and their families. We are pleased that a University of Illinois student is the recipient of this $10,000 scholarship and thank College Book Renter for providing this scholarship program” according to Dan Mann, Director of Student Financial Aid at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Knopp said “this scholarship means so much to me and I’m very honored to receive it. CollegeBookRenter.com was one of the first sites I visited when looking for my Fall semester materials. I wouldn’t choose anything else” added Knopp. Knopp said the scholarship would help her to pursue her dreams.
The sweepstakes was featured on CBR’s facebook fan page, and students were also automatically entered when they sold any of their textbooks to CBR at the end of the semester. College Book Renter VP of Public Relations, Dave Reeves, said “we just really wanted a way to make more students aware of the great prices they can get when they sell their used textbooks to CBR. Students have a choice of receiving cash, Paypal credit, or even more in CBR credit when they sell textbooks to us.”
Juliana and CBR representatives celebrated her win with a party near the University campus. CBR took the opportunity to distribute some free t-shirts, lanyards, cups and other gear to the other students at the University to promote cheap textbook rentals for the start of the semester at the University of Illinois.
