Everyone has a dream of being successful and happy. It started when we were children, idolizing our hero. We would sit and day dream about what it would be like to be them, how we would change the world or how we would use our “super powers”. Some of us knew what we wanted to be very early in our lives. For some, it takes time to mature and grow, idols change and so do their goals and interests. When we were young we might have wanted to be an astronaut or the President, only to find out we really want to design furniture or own an art studio.
Confucius said, “Find a job you enjoy, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” So does Charles A. “Chuck” Jones, founder and CEO of College Book Renter. Chuck went to university as an aspiring young student but he discovered he wanted to be an entrepreneur very early in his educational career. All college was doing for him was slowing down his dream job…working for himself. “How are you doing Chuck?” He replies “living the dream, never worked a day in my life because I love what I do”.
For some, it takes longer to discover their passion. And still others have a variety of careers before they find the “Dream Job”.
